Best early 2008 April Fools joke: watch as baseball pitcher Kyle Kendrick of the Philadelphia Phillies gets an early April Fools joke, as he is made to believe that he's being traded to a Japanese baseball team in exchange for a player named "Kobayashi Iwamura". People were in on the prank at all levels, from his fellow players to his agent and even the team's assistant general manager.
Another early April Fools joke for 2008: Offers over £1 million were being invited for a hotel in Bridport, UK this week (w/e March 8, 2008). Haddon House was listed on the eBay auction website. It turned out however that it was only an early April Fools joke. The Hotel's management were reportedly not in the least amused and had it removed from Ebay's listings.

Featured Celebrity April Fools hoax: 2005 - Maynard Keenan of the band, Tool, announced as an April Fool's
joketo the shock of many of his fans and friendsthat
he had "found Jesus" and would be abandoning the recording
of the new Tool album temporarily and possibly permanently. Kurt
Loder of MTV contacted Keenan via email to ask for a confirmation
and received a very nonchalant confirmation. When Loder asked again,
Keenan's response was simply "heh heh.".
Featured top April Fools hoax: The Taco Liberty Bell - In 1996, the Taco Bell Corporation announced
that it had bought the Liberty Bell from the federal government
and was renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell. Naturally, hundreds of
outraged citizens called up the National Historic Park in Philadelphia
where the bell is housed to express their anger. Things only calmed
down when Taco Bell revealed a few hours later that it was just
a practical joke.
